Horal’s Mega Blend Oude Geuze 2013

Horal's Mega Blend Oude Geuze 2013

The Oude Geuze available at De Cam stand was the Horal’s Mega Blend 2013. This Oude Geuze is created from the 8 brewery members of Horal: Boon, De Cam, De Troch, 3 Fonteinen, Hanssens, Lindemans, Oud Beersel, and Timmermans. The limbic is collected from the 8 member breweries and then aged and blended to create this gauze. Tart, citrusy with a good funk.

Brouwerij Girardin Gueuze 1882 White Label (Filtered)

Gueuze Girardin

I was excited to try the white label Gueuze Girardin 1882 for some time. Not until I inspected the bottle after it was pored did I get white meant filtered. Besides that the taste on this night was not hitting the spot for me as a Gueuze normally does. Will have to try the Black Label asap.

Cantillon Gueuze / Geuze

Cantillon Gueuze or Geuze is a blend of lambic aged for three years, two years, and one year. The base is a three year old lambic and then the brewer blends in two and one year old lambic to get the taste he is looking for. This beer is a good candidate to cellar in a cool, dark place for years. I have some aging try an older one in a few years. Cantillon is working on a project currently (started in 2012) with the city of Brussels to have a cellar where they age Gueuze for years (+30 years) so that you could try different vintages at the brewery.
